Unmask

Data sources and limitations

Every scan uses live data, read when you open it. Here's where each part comes from, and what Unmask can't see.

Where the data comes from

  • Solana RPC (Helius): the token's mint account, for its authorities and token extensions, and its first transactions, read oldest first, for the launch checks.
  • RugCheck: the top holders and what they are (pools, exchanges, the creator), LP lock status, whether the metadata can change, and networks of wallets linked by transfers.
  • DexScreener: price, market cap, pools and trading volume.
  • Jupiter: sell quotes for exit slippage.
  • Provadata: which holders are FOMO traders, with their FOMO username, PnL and followers. Provadata is an independent service, because FOMO doesn't publish an API.
  • Helius transaction history: each matched trader's recent trades, to see how they usually buy and sell.
  • FOMO: traders' profile pictures, from the public profile cards FOMO makes for sharing.

The bottom of every scan lists the sources it used.

What Unmask can't see

  • Only the largest holders are matched to FOMO. Unmask checks the top 20 holders and shows up to 8 FOMO traders among them. Smaller FOMO traders aren't shown.
  • Habits come from one wallet. A trader's habits are read from the recent trades of the wallet that holds the token, up to its last 300 transactions. Trades from other wallets they use aren't included.
  • Launch checks read the first 100 transactions. Unmask reads a token's first transactions directly, however long its history. If more than 100 landed in the first five blocks, only the first 100 are counted, so a very crowded launch can be undercounted.
  • Linked wallets come from token transfers. Wallets funded through exchanges or bridges, or connected in other ways, may not show up as linked.
  • Slippage is an estimate. Quotes reflect the pools at the time of the scan. Your actual fill depends on the pool when you trade.
  • Some data is cached. A scan is reused for one minute, trader matches for six hours, and trading habits for 30 minutes. Third-party data can also lag behind the chain.
  • Solana only, for now. Other chains are on the roadmap.
  • Who's listed: the traders on FOMO's 24-hour and 7-day leaderboards, plus every FOMO trader a scan on Unmask has found among a token's largest holders. It isn't every trader on FOMO, so the list grows as more tokens are scanned.
  • How it's ranked: buys and sells in the last 24 hours, with a boost for leaderboard rank and recent activity. Other sorts use FOMO's 7-day PnL and follower counts, as reported by FOMO via Provadata.
  • Newest wallets: FOMO doesn't publish when someone joined, so this sort uses the date of each wallet's first transaction.
  • How fresh it is: each trader's habits are re-read from the chain about once an hour, and the leaderboards about once a day. The page re-sorts every minute.

Privacy

Unmask doesn't ask you to connect a wallet or sign in. Scans only read public on-chain data and public FOMO profile data.
